2020 New-Gen Honda City will debut several first-in-segment features.

Honda Cars India has officially unveiled the new-gen 2020 City sedan for the Indian market ahead of its launch in July next month. Being the longest and widest in the segment, it will also debut several first-in-segment features. Being dubbed as India’s First Connected Car due to the inclusion of Alexa remote capability, the new-gen 2020 Honda City will be available in both petrol and diesel fuel trims while taking on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Rapid in India.


 
Measuring 4549mm in length, 1748mm in width and 1489mm in height, the 2020 new-gen Honda City design is inspired by the Japanese Katana blade. The character line runs right from the headlamp all the way to the tail lamp while the sedan flaunts a new front chrome grille. It gets full LED Headlamps with 9 LED Array Inline Shell, Integrated LED DRLs and L Shaped LED turn signals. Riding on 16-inch Diamond cut alloy wheels, finished in dual-tone Shark Gray shade, the 2020 City sedan boasts of Z shaped 3D wrap-around LED tail-lamp cluster with LED side marker lamps. The interior cabin is based on Honda's “Ambitious Beauty” concept in a dual-tone black and beige layout while boot capacity stands at 506 litres.

The 2020 new-gen Honda City features include a 7.0-inch MID, electric sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, paddleshifters (CVT only), rear sunshade, ambient lighting, push-button start/stop with keyless entry, remote engine start and hands-free boot release. The range-topping variants will come with an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Weblink compatibility. In addition, Honda Connect telematics system with 32 connected car features and Alexa remote capability (first in India) will be introduced with the sedan as well. Mechanically, it will be powered by a set of BS6 compliant 1.5L petrol and diesel engines. The petrol variants will come with a 6-speed manual manual and a CVT gearbox while the diesel variants will only be offered with a 6-speed manual transmission.
