Mercedes Benz India has announced the launch of C63 AMG Coupe facelift and GT-R facelift on May 27, 2020 in the country. Both the high-performance cars will have a digital launch due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Mercedes-AMG C63 coupe will be the range topping variant in the C-Class range, which was last updated around a couple of years back in 2018. On the other hand, Mercedes-AMG GTR was introduced in 2017 in the Indian market at a price of Rs 2.23 Crores (Ex. Showroom, India) and the facelifted model is expected to cost, more or less, the same.

Mercedes Benz had discontinued the pre-facelift C63 AMG coupe last year in India, which came with a sticker price of Rs 1.60 Crores. The C-Class lineup is priced in a range of Rs 40.90-76.50 Lakhs. As for styling, the coupe will boast of a belligerent appearance with the AMG signature “Panamericana” front grille leading the charge. Unlike the four-door sedan version, it will flaunt a sharper and raked roofline. Mercedes-AMG C63 coupe rides on 10-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels which are finished in black, while the rear end boasts of blacked-out spoiler on the boot. The features will include wireless phone charger, 9-speaker sound system with 225W amplifier, 12.3-inch all-digital instrument cluster, AMG-spec drive and traction modes, AMG Ride Control suspension setup etc. to name a few.

Both the Mercedes-AMG GTR and Mercedes-AMG C63 coupe will be powered by a 4.0L V8 twin-turbo engine which will generate top power and peak torque of 585bhp and 700Nm & 476bhp and 650Nm, respectively. Though, the international-spec AMG C63 S develops maximum power output and highest torque performance of 510bhp and 700Nm, respectively. The India-spec model will come mated to a 9-speed AMG torque converter automatic gearbox, powering the rear wheels. The GTR will come with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Both the models will have a top speed in excess of 250kmph with 0-100kmph acceleration time less than 4 seconds.
