Mercedes has introduced the 2020 AMG GT models at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. Out of all the models showcased the limited-edition AMG GT R Pro grabbed most of the crowd. The AMG GT R Pro has been designed with a focus for performance and hence the race engineers have used all their experience of AMG GT3 and AMG GT4 racing cars in making it.

The AMG GT R Pro is made using lightweight materials and gets different suspension, better aerodynamics and aggressive appearance. The company has developed new coilover suspension for this vehicle. It gets adjustable carbon fibre torsion bar in the front and an adjustable hollow steel bar at the rear. The car comes fitted with Uniball spherical bearing on both upper and lower wishbone.

The car sits on lightweight AMG performance ten-spoke forged wheels. There are some modifications done in the front fender in order to reduce lift. The car also comes fitted with various carbon fibre parts which include wing mirrors, rear spoiler and rear diffuser. The exhaust tip is at the rear centre on the car, this is inspired by the AMG GT 4-door coupe.

The steering is wrapped in black Nappa leather, the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is now standard alongside a 10.25-inch multimedia display. It also gets the AMG Track Pack which is also a standard part of the COMAND infotainment system. Apart from all, the sports car is equipped with the AMG Dynamics driving mode.

The Mercedes AMG GT R Pro is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that churns out 577 BHP and 700 Nm of torque. Moreover, Maro Engel, the AMG GT3 racing driver got behind the wheel of the AMG GT R Pro and lapped the Nurburgring in 7.04.632 mins.
