While Maruti has already launched the Dzire facelift in India, it is now set to roll out the Swift facelift anytime soon. Recently, images of the brochure of the upcoming 2020 Swift facelift have surfaced online from Japan. The popular hatchback is likely to get a mid-life refresh in the international market. The leaked images show that it is not going to receive many updates. The 2020 Maruti Swift facelift is likely to launch later this year in India.
According to the leaked information, the 2020 Maruti Swift Facelift will feature new honeycomb meshing for the front radiator grille along with a prominent chrome strip. The front bumper is slightly tweaked as well. The rest of the exterior design remains unchanged. The model in the leaked images gets dual-tone alloy wheels. It is still not sure if it will be launched in the Indian market or not.
The 2020 Swift facelift is likely to retain most of the interior features of the outgoing model. It will get a multi-colored 4.2-inch multi-information display (MID) as standard while also boasting of an updated version of the 7-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system. Other salient features will include cruise control, auto-folding outside rearview mirrors, cloud-based services for audio entertainment, and display vehicle alerts. The hatchback is also likely to get new seat fabrics and accents.
The Japan-spec Swift facelift will be offered in five trims namely XG, RS, Hybrid MG, Hybrid RS, and Hybrid SZ trims. The Hybrid MG and Hybrid RS get a mild-hybrid system, while the top-end Hybrid SZ trim gets a full-hybrid system. The Hybrid MG and Hybrid RS feature a silver background in the Hybrid badge, while the Hybrid SZ trim has a black background in the Hybrid badge. Unlike the old model, the 2020 Swift facelift will be available in four color options including the metallic yellow and silver combination that gives a sporty look to the car.
The new Maruti Swift receives major changes under the hood. It is expected to get a more powerful 1.2-liter K12N DualJet petrol engine, which also powers the Maruti Dzire Facelift and Maruti Baleno. This engine will deliver a maximum power output of 90 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque. When compared to the current 1.2-litre petrol engine, this new DualJet engine produces 7 bhp of more power. Maruti has already discontinued the diesel variants.
