2020 Kawasaki 650 twins get updated to meet the BS6 Emission Norms; get a price hike over the BS4 version.

Kawasaki Motor India have updated the Ninja 650 and Z650 to meet the BS6 Emission Norms. Recently, Kawasaki Motor now has opened the bookings for the BS6 compliant Ninja 650 and the Z650 motorcycles in the country. Dealerships have already started accepting bookings for both the motorcycles. The launch of both the motorcycles was scheduled for April 2020 but due to coronavirus lockdown, it got delayed. 

 


The BS6 Kawasaki Ninja 650 was unveiled in January 2020 and is priced in the range of Rs 6.65 lakhs - Rs 6.79 lakhs (ex-showroom). While the BS6 Kawasaki Ninja Z650 was announced in December 2019 priced between Rs 6.25 lakhs - Rs 6.50 lakhs (ex-showroom). Both the motorcycles witness a price hike of about Rs 55,000 over the BS4 version. 


The 2020 BS6 Kawasaki Ninja 650 gets styling updates. It features a new-sculpted fuel tank and a revised tail section. It is powered by a 649 cc motor that produces 66.4 bhp @ 8000 rpm and 64 Nm @ 6700 rpm. The sports tourer gets a 4.3-inch TFT screen with the Rideology app. Its twin headlamp is powered by LED bulbs.

The 2020 BS6 Kawasaki Z650 on the other hand features a new Z900-inspired LED headlamp cowl, giving it a sharper and aggressive look. It also gets a new TFT display along with the Rideology app. The Z650 BS6 continues to draw power from the 649 cc parallel-twin motor that now develops 67.3 bhp @ 8000 rpm and 64 Nm of peak torque @ 6700 rpm. The motor is paired with the same 6-speed gearbox. 


The BS6 Kawasaki Ninja 650 will be offered in two colors namely Lime Green Ebony and Pearl Flat Stardust White. While the BS6 Z650 will be offered in a single Metallic Spark Black color.
