Volvo has revealed the mid-life update of the XC90 which comes with some changes

Volvo has taken the wraps off the new XC90 that comes with mild cosmetic changes on the exterior and interior but gets a new tech that saves fuel. The visual changes include new front grille, new alloy wheels and new colour options. Apart from these minor changes, the new XC90 looks more or less the same.

The interiors get subtle changes like new 6-seater layout and new material changes. The Swedish automaker has now revealed a new kinetic energy recovery braking system KERS that will save 15 percent more fuel in the XC90. The KERS system uses brake-by-wire technology that does energy recovery and stores electric power that results in a better range.

The new XC90 now provides steering aid on both the City Safety and the Blind Spot Information System. The Scandinavian carmaker has also offered Oncoming Lane Mitigation system with Cross Traffic Alert system that comes with Autobrake function. Volvo has started taking orders for the same and it will begin production from May this year in Sweden.
