The British marque, Triumph has unveiled the Scrambler 1200 and it is considered as the most capable off-roader in its category. The Scrambler 1200 will be available in two variants – XC and XE, however, this bike will not be available as a road biased version XR.

Triumph has built an all-new double cradle chassis specifically for this bike. The bike sits on 21-inch and 19-inch wheels at the front and rear respectively. The bike gets spoked wheels which are wrapped by Metzeler Tourance tubeless tyres. If that partial-block pattern doesn’t satisfy your hunger you can switch to Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres to unleash the full potential of the bike to your ability.

The base XC gets 45 mm fully adjustable Showa USD fork at the front with 200 mm travel and at the rear, it comes with dual fully adjustable Ohlins shocks. The front forks on the XE variant are 47 mm and have a travel of 250 mm while the rear suspension stays the same. The braking hardware on these bikes is top of the line Brembo M50 callipers. The seat height of XC and XE is at 840 mm and 870 mm respectively. The footpegs are adjustable on the XE variant but the seat height of the bike cannot be changed in any of the variants.

The Scrambler 1200 comes with second gen TFT display which integrated with GoPro control system and turn-by-turn navigation. These two systems are developed by Triumph in association with GoPro and Google Maps respectively. The bike gets keyless ignition, cruise control, switchable traction control along with ABS and USB charger as standard. Whereas, the XE variant gets IMU-aided traction control and heated grips. Both the bikes come with multiple riding modes.

Powering the Scrambler 1200 is a parallel-twin engine from the Thruxton, but it’s in a different state of tune. The engine produces 90 HP and 110 Nm of torque. The powerplant is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch. The company will bring the Scrambler 1200 XC to India in the first half of 2019. However, the XE variant will be available later on. The official price release will be done in December and will sit above ] all the other modern classic models. When launched, this bike will take on Ducati Scrambler 1100 and BMW R nineT Scrambler.
