Mercedes-Benz has revealed the diesel version of the G-Class after showcasing the AMG version globally.

The German luxury carmaker has introduced a new diesel variant to the G-Class lineup, the G350d. The more practical and most affordable version of the big daddy will be available in the international market starting June 2019. We hope Mercedes-Benz introduces the diesel version in the Indian market for better practicality and an attractive price tag.

Powering the 2019 Mercedes G350d is a straight-six turbo diesel engine with a capacity of 2.9-liters that produces a maximum power output of 286 PS at 3400-4600 RPM and 600 Nm of torque at 1200-3200 RPM.  This oil burner is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. This diesel powertrain of the G-Class complies with the new Euro 6d-TEMP emission norms.

The 0-100 km/hr acceleration for this diesel engine powered G350d is claimed to be 7.4 seconds with a top speed of 200 km/hr, which is not bad at all. It comes well equipped with features such as leather seats, Artico man-made leather trim covering the instrument panel, open-pore wood accents, Dynamic Select drive mode selector, Active Braking Assist and other assistance systems.
