One of the highest selling cars in India, Maruti Wagon R, is about to get a new generation model on 23rd January. It is one of the most important products for Maruti Suzuki and they have now teased the much awaited car in the Indian market. The teaser image from Maruti Suzuki says 'Big New Wagon R' which indicates it is going to be bigger than the current version.
The new generation Maruti Wagon R will get significant changes inside out. The exteriors are now mature and more grown up and looks less boxy. The interior is revised and gets new features including a touchscreen infotainment system that gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The new Wagon R will compete against the Hyundai Santro and the Tata Tiago.
Powering the new Wagon R will be the 1.2-litre petrol engine, which is shared with the Swift siblings. It will also get the current 1.0-litre petrol engine with CNG option as well. The 2019 Maruti Wagon R will be offered with 5-speed manual and AMT transmission options. The tallboy hatchback will be sold through the Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships.
