The new generation Maruti Wagon R is here that comes with a starting price of Rs. 4.19 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the base LXi variant while the range topping 1.2-litre petrol ZXi AGS variant is priced at Rs. 5.69 lakhs. The new Wagon R is being offered with two petrol engine options 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre. The latter is the same engine being shared with the Swift.
The 1.0-litre engine produces 67 BHP of power at 5500 RPM with 90 Nm of torque at 3500 RPM. This engine returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 22.5 km/l. The 1.2-litre engine produces 82 BHP of power at 6000 RPM with 113 Nm of torque at 4200 RPM. It returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 21.5 km/l. Both the engines are offered with a 5-speed manual transmission and 5-speed AMT option.
In terms of safety, Maruti Suzuki is offering Driver airbag, ABS with EBD, front seat belts reminder, speed alert system and rear parking sensors as standard across all variants. The new Wagon R gets SmartPlay Studio Infotainment system which is a touchscreen that comes with multiple features on offer.
