The Hyundai Santro is back now with an all-new avatar, inspired by its elder sibling the Hyundai Grand i10.

Hyundai Santro first launched two decades ago and it was a huge success. The Korean manufacturer, Hyundai has now unveiled the completely new generation of the Santro. The Santro will be launched on October 23 and pre-bookings will begin online from October 10 at a price of Rs. 11,100/-.

The new Santro gets a completely new grille with chrome surroundings. It gets a 7-inch touchscreen on the inside. The multimedia system is equipped with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Mirror Link connectivity. The car also comes with rear AC vents and a rear parking camera. On the safety front, the car gets ABS, EBD and driver’s airbag.

The new Santro is built on a new platform. The usage of high strength steel (HSS) has helped for better static and dynamic stiffness of the structure. Powering the car is a 1.1-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 68.05 BHP and 99 Nm of torque. The petrol variant comes with an option of a manual gearbox or an automatic transmission.  Hyundai will be offering a CNG variant too but the output from the engine will be less at 58.2 BHP and 84 Nm of torque.

Hyundai has provided 3 years or 1 lakh km warranty along with 3 years of roadside assistance for the new Santro. If the company prices it competitively, the Santro will again repeat the success which it had done 20 years ago.
