Green Color Bajaj Dominar Side Profile

After one too many ‘Haathi mat paalo’ adverts, Bajaj is ready to come up with the refreshed version of Dominar 400. This version is supposed to carry quite a few key upgrades for this sports-tourer from Indian maker. Keen petrolheads will know that many pics of the new Dominar 400 are doing rounds on the internet. However, this is the one shade that might make a biker go bonkers, presenting the Kawasaki Green shade of Dominar 400. This color not only lends sportiness to the bike but also reminds one of the Kawasaki-Bajaj tie-up that the two companies once had.

Apart from a viral video about its test ride last year, new Dominar has also been seen during road tests and in manufacturer’s ads, so the public already has a fair idea of the kind of updates on this bike.

Getting to what the new update has in store, one can find that the new version of Dominar with upside down forks. This new setup will not only make this bike a lot sportier but will also offer more feedback to users. Among other major noticeable changes on the new version of Dominar are a changed set of rear view mirrors, a twin barrel exhaust, and a bigger radiator grille for faster cooling of the engine.

Talking about the new exhaust, it is supposed to address one of the major gripes of customers – exhaust note. This new version with its twin barrel setup is expected to have a throatier and gruntier sound, something that the customers want from a 350+ cc bike. The new model will have the same instrument cluster as the older one, however the major upgrade here will be the availability of a lot more handy information.

Talking of the other display on the bike, the instrument cluster on the fuel tank too has been updated to show more information than before. As far as the engine department goes, the new Dominar will still feature the same KTM 390 derived 373 cc engine with fuel injection and liquid cooling. However, major upgrades that are sure to please prospective owners will be the increase in power and lower level of vibrations on the new Dominar. Considering that Bajaj places this as a sports-tourer these two major upgrades ought to attract more buyers. Getting to other mechanical bits, standard dual channel ABS and 6-speed manual gearbox featuring slipper clutch assist will be present as well.

Readers are well aware of the fact that the new stringent safety laws of India will soon be enforced and any 2-wheeler above 125-cc will mandatorily have to feature ABS under these rules. So keeping the same in view, the days of Dominar 400’s non-ABS version are numbered.

These new safety laws will drive up the prices of two-wheelers in India and new updated Bajaj Dominar will be no exception. 2019 Dominar will most probably feature a sticker price of Rs. 1.80 lakh. With its almost shocking value-for-money 2019 Dominar find itself pitted against KTM Duke 390, Honda CB 300R and multiple familiar rivals in the Royal Enfield lineup.
