The sportsbike gets the BS4 treatment and visual changes for 2018.

Japanese motorcycle maker, Yamaha has unveiled its updated R3 for 2018. The new motorcycle is available in three new colour schemes in the US - Raven, Vivid White and Yamaha Blue. The bike features no changes mechanically, except for the ones to make it Euro4/BS4 compliant.

Powering the engine is a 321cc twin-cylinder motor that produces 41.9hp and 29.6Nm of torque. The R3 continues to use the same six-speed transmission. In the US, it is available with and without ABS. However, it remains to be seen, if Yamaha will give us this option in India for 2018.

In terms of suspension, the forks up front and adjustable shock at the rear remains unchanged. Sadly, the motorcycle still misses out on USB forks that are seen on more affordable rivals. The wet weight for the US-spec R3 is 170kg (with ABS) and 166.9kg (non-ABS).The instrumentation also remains unchanged.

Yamaha is expected to launch the R3 soon in India.
