About Porsche Cars

Dr Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, usually shortened to Porsche is a German-based company that manufactures high-performance sports cars, SUVs and Sedans. The company has its headquarters in Stuttgart and is currently owned by the Volkswagen group. Every vehicle that the company manufactures has a powerful engine and can go upto unimaginable speeds, which makes it difficult to differentiate supercars from the normal cars of the company. Porsche’s supercar production line includes 911, Panamera and 718.

  • 911: The 911 is the supercar segment from the German maker, the 911 is further bifurcated on the basis of body type and engine, i.e. Carrera, Targa 4 and 911 turbo.
    • Carrera: A sloping bonnet with round headlamps low placed grille with a large front bumper is the identity of all the Porsche car models. The Carrera comes in three body type hardtop, roofless and Touring. The car runs on the twin-turbo 3.0 flat-six engine which produces 370bhp. The torque is rated at 450Nm from as low as 1,750rpm to 5,000rpm.
    • Targa 4: The Targa 4 series features the 3.4-litre engine and offers power upto 272 kW (370 hp). The look of the cars shares the same Porsche DNA, but the Targa 4 series features a retractable roof that makes the car ideal for long drives.
    • 911 Turbo: The 911 Turbo features a slight change in the design. At the front end, the car has 6 black air blades which integrate with the front light unit for air intakes. The rear of the car features three-dimensional taillights; air intake integrated reflector units and powerfully shaped twin pipes. The vehicle runs on the 3.8-litre Boxer engine, which consists of 6-cylinders and 24 valves that grants a power of 520bhp at 6000rpm to 6500rpm, while its torque stands at 660Nm at 1950rpm to 5000rpm.
  • Panamera: The Panamera is further divided into two parts – the Panamera and the Panamera E-Hybrid. The Panamera runs on the 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol motor engine and generates power upto 550PS of max power between 5,750 and 6,000rpm and 770Nm of peak torque between 1,960 and 4,500rpm. Panamera E-Hybrid is the merger of Electric and Fuel powered cars. The E-Hybrid features a 2.9-litre V6 bi-turbo engine that generates power upto 62PS power along with a torque figure of 700Nm.
  • 718: The Porsche 718 is the smallest car made by the manufacturer, it is the combination of Boxster and Cayman, due to which the hardtop coupe version of the car will be called ‘Cayman’ while the drop-top roadster version will be called ‘Boxster’. The cars will feature 2.0-litre and 2.5-litre four-cylinder engines. The engines are expected to generate power upto 295bhp power, 380Nm torque and 45bhp power, 420Nm torque respectively. The front bumper of the car has been modified, and the three-part air dam makes the car look sporty. The car features round shaped headlights that get the quad LED setup which makes the car look more aggressive.
