Corona virus epidemic is sweeping across the country with over 14,000 citizens affected and the death toll rising with every passing day. The Indian government is putting its efforts in controlling the outbreak with the nationwide lockdown till 3rd May 2020. Apart from the government authorities, Indian corporates are extending their help in combating the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. Volvo Car India is extending warranty on its cars till 31st May to reduce inconvenience to customers due to COVID-19 lockdown in India.  The decision by the company will help the customers whose warranties were expiring during the lockdown period beginning 22nd March 2020 up until 3rd May 2020.

Mr Charles Frump – Managing Director, Volvo Car India Managing Director said, “The health and safety of our employees and customers are of paramount importance for us. We fully support the Government’s lockdown initiative in order to curtail the spread of COVID-19, during the lockdown some of our customers may have faced warranty issues and we are happy to extend the warranty till 31st May 2020 for customers whose warranty ends between 22nd March and 3rd May 2020.”

Volvo Car India had earlier announced work from home from March 17, 2020, as a safety measure for its employees, considering the number of Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases were rising in March. The work from home was part of its overall health and safety plan to mitigate risks associated with COVID-19. The company has asked its employees to work from home with enhanced sanitation measures taken to ensure hygiene at office premises.

Volvo is working closely with the dealers to ensure their facilities are hygienic. Guidelines to dealers include ensuring cars that visit workshops as well as dealer demo cars are properly cleaned before next use.
