Royal Enfield is all set to enter into the world of connected two-wheelers. The company is likely to introduce Bluetooth Connectivity and Navigation system to its future line-up of motorcycles. According to a media report, these new connected features are likely to make its way to at least two to three future products. Top motorcycle companies like the Hero Motorcorp and the TVS have already made their presence felt in this segment. 


The upcoming Royal Enfield motorcycles might also come with the Smartphone Connectivity providing the ride data. The user will have to connect their smartphone to the motorcycle’s instrument cluster in order to get the riding information. The new Royal Enfield motorcycles will also be offered with LED display showing turn-by-turn navigation. The new connectivity features are said to be considered on the basis of market feedback. With the introduction of these elements, the company will be able to justify the increase in price.


According to a report, the Royal Enfield Meteor could be one of the first RE motorcycle to get connected features. The Meteor Fireball is touted as the replacement for the Thunderbird. Due to COVID’19 lockdown, its launch has been postponed.

The upcoming Royal Meteor 350 Fireball will feature a round headlamp cluster with LED DRLs, a twin-pod instrument panel, circular tail light, and a stepped seat. Like the Royal Enfield Thunderbird X, this particular motorcycle is likely to be offered in bright colours. The alloy wheels also get pinstripes that will match the color of the fuel tank. A tinted flyscreen worth Rs. 1,750 is likely to be offered as an optional accessory. 


Under the frame, the motorcycle will be powered by a 349 cc single-cylinder engine sourced from the Royal Enfield Bullet Classic 350. The unit equipped on the Meteor 350 Fireball will be a fuel-injection upgraded to BS6 Emission Norms. Mated to a 5-speed gearbox, the engine will produce 19.8 bhp power output and 28 Nm of peak torque.
