Mahindra & Mahindra is not holding back in introducing models with major updates in the form of design, styling, feature and powertrains for the Indian market. After the success of recently-launched New-Gen Mahindra Thar, the automaker is planning on introducing new models next year. It’s not just new cars, the brand is reportedly changing its logo too. Thanks to our friends at Team-BHP, we now have information regarding the debut of a new Mahindra logo on the New-Gen XUV 500. This new logo will also be seen on other upcoming models like the New-Gen Scorpio, KUV100 and S210 electric car. There is no disclosure on the logo design but it promises to be radically different from the current one. The present logo first appeared way back in 2002 on the Mahindra Scorpio SUV. Mahindra’s existing logo is in an oval shape with three lines coming together to form an ‘M’ letter.  The logo came into practice following Anand Mahindra’s reorganisation of the company in the year 2000.

Coming back to the 2021 Mahindra XUV 500, it promises to be different from the current model on sale if we go by the spy shots surfacing on the internet. Heavily camouflaged, we did manage to get out some essential details. Upfront, the New-Gen Mahindra XUV500 will flaunt a bigger sized grille, double-barrel headlamps and all-new bumper. The biggest reveal is that the production-ready XUV500 was spotted riding on a new set of all-black alloy wheels.

Its interior is going to surprise buyers with a dual-tone colour which a big departure from the current model. A completely revamped central console and dashboard are elements to look forward to. Further, there will be a fully-digital instrument cluster and a large touchscreen infotainment system on offer. Expect standard features like automatic climate control, support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, ambient lighting among many others to be present here as well.

Available engine options is where the readers would be quite interested. After 2021 Mahindra Thar got a new set of powertrains, upcoming XUV 500 is expected to be powered by a 2.2-litre m-Hawk diesel engine and a 2.0-litre turbo-charged petrol unit. The former is expected to deliver a power output of 190 bhp while the latter is expected to produce 190 bhp. Talking about transmission duties, then the diesel and petrol variants are likely to feature a 6-speed manual gearbox alongside a 6-speed automatic stick.

There is a strong chance that 2021 Mahindra XUV500 could feature Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). This would make it the most affordable SUV in India to offer Autonomous Level 1 Technology. MG Gloster is the other SUV to come with this feature but it is priced at Rs 28.8 lakh (ex-showroom), India, which is quite expensive than the upcoming XUV500
