News Highlights

  • KTM 250 Adventure launch is expected ahead of Diwali festival
  • The bike will belt out 30 bhp of maximum power and 24 Nm of peak torque

KTM 250 Adventure is finally coming to the Indian market after several months of wait. The adventure bike was scheduled to arrive in the first quarter of 2020 but COVID-19 pandemic played spoilsport to the plans. Also, the Austrian manufacturer was focussing on the Husqvarna 250 twins' launch in India so it delayed the 250 Adventure launch. As per the latest image released by our friends at Zigwheels, it is a part of KTM 250 Adventure’s pre-launch presentation slides. The 250 Adventure has been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads as the manufacturer moves ahead with the launch during the Diwali festive period. It will rival the likes of Hero Xpulse 200 and BMW G 310 GS in India.

KTM, for now, hasn’t disclosed anything about the upcoming motorcycle but the spy shots do give us an insight about the bike. Design-wise, the 250 Adventure will be a blend of premium 390 Adventure and the older 250 duke model. So, expect a halogen unit with LED DRL instead of the new 250 Duke's split headlamp cluster. This is done to reduce the overall cost of the bike in the domestic market. It will be the manufacturer's entry-level bike in the adventure touring segment so don’t expect it to be feature-heavy like the 390 Adventure. The Indian buyers will get an LCD instrument panel and dual-channel ABS with no option for multiple riding modes. The bike doesn’t offer traction control, off-road ABS control and ride-by-wire.

The 250 adventure will be based on the steel-trellis frame and subframe borrowed from 390 Adventure. It will ride on the same set of 19-inch alloys seen in 390 adventure with the same 100/90-19 front and 130/80-17 rear wheels. Instead of Continental tyres, the 250 Adventure will reportedly come with MRF Mogrip Meteor FM2 tubeless tyres. KTM 250 Adventure will be powered by the 250 Duke's engine. The bike will belt out 30 bhp of maximum power and 24 Nm of peak torque. The BS6 compliant engine will be paired to a six-speed gearbox and slipper clutch. The hardware is borrowed from the 250 Duke, meaning that WP Apex 43 mm USD with mono-shock will be present. There will be a 320mm single disc at the front and a 230mm unit at the rear which handle the braking duties.
