Classic Legends Private Limited the newly setup company showcased three bikes last year and accounted the relaunch of Jawa brand to India. As per the recent announcement by the brand about auctioning of bikes for Indian Armed Forces, an auction was recently held in Mumbai. At the event, the newly relaunched brand organized an auction for the first 13 of Jawa motorcycles. The total amount raised from the even went up to an astounding Rs. 1.43 crores or 1,43,25,000 to be precise. The brand had organized the event under the Forever Heroes initiative to raise money for supporting armed forces of India. The total amount raised from the charity auction would be donated to Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. This organization is operated by the Kendriya Sainik Board under Ministry of Defense and the amount has been donated for the children of brave martyrs of Indian Army.
During the event in Mumbai, the brand had presented the 13 purpose-built bikes named Jawa Signature Edition. What distinguishes these bikes from other production models is the numbering on their chassis ranging from 001-100 and the bidders were free to place bids on their desired chassis number. It is not just the bikes that are special, the owners of the bikes will also be entitled to certain special and exclusive privileges. The chassis number that fetched the highest bud was 001 that was sold for whopping Rs 45 lakhs. Talking of the lowest bid, it was the chassis 007, which was sold for Rs. 5 lakhs.
The bidding at the auction was quite intense as people both present at the auction in Mumbai as well as online were allowed to place bids on these special bikes. The on-spot bidders managed to get hold of 10 bikes whereas the remaining 3 went to the bidders placing bids online. Apart from these bikes the bidders will also have access to World of Jawa and will receive an invite for all the events of the brand and will also be eligible for all the promotions and offers run by the company. Apart from these special benefits, the successful bidders and prospective owners of these bikes will also get a commemorative copy of ‘The Forever Bike’ book about the legacy and heritage of brand’s bikes.
The co-founder of Classic Legends Private Limited Anupam Thareja talked about the charity event and said the following,
“Given the recent events that have brought the valor of the soldiers to the fore, we felt this would be the right time to salute the heroes of the Armed Forces that put the country ahead of themselves. The ‘Forever Heroes’ initiative is our way of offering gratitude towards their services. This feeling resonates from the heart of the leadership team well into the sensibilities of various departmental employees – with many people coming from the Armed Forces families!”
The gala of special benefits for the successful bidders at the auction does not stop here, the owners of these bikes will also be eligible for a special service package. This will be valid for 42 months after the bikes are delivered to them. This service package comes with a free service during the 42 months that includes the spares and other things used in the standard service. The money that the bidders paid at the auction also was inclusive of the registration of the bikes they bought, hence saving the bidders from any extra charges. The successful bidders can ask the company to deliver these bikes to them at any authorized brand dealer that they choose in the entire country. There is no news so far on the delivery date of these bikes. However, the bidders will have to deposit the money for their Jawa Signature edition bikes within 7 days of the auction.
Newly resurrected Jawa brand says that their ‘Forever Heroes’ is the brand making an effort to display their gratitude and respect toward the Indian Armed Forces. The 13 Jawa Signature special edition bikes auctioned at the event will come with an Indian tricolor on their fuel tank and the custom fuel tank of the bike will display the name of the owner of the bike. Jawa also stated that the delivery of their regular production version bikes to the customers who had booked the bike beforehand from 11 AM on 30th March 2019.
