Hyundai Creta New

South Korean carmaker Hyundai has unveiled the next-generation model of their Creta at the Shanghai Motor Show in China. The updated model comes with a host of changes that are not just limited to the exteriors of the SUV. The compact SUV will make its way to the 2020 Auto Expo in India as well. The name for Hyundai Creta in the Chinese market is the ix25, and avid motorheads will remember that the Creta had initially debuted in China itself and then was brought to India in 2015. Something similar will be witnessed with the next generation model of the compact SUV as well, as the launch of new generation Hyundai Creta in India is supposed to take place some time next year. The 2020 Creta had already been spied testing multiple times and now the company has finally fully revealed the compact SUV at the motor show in China.

Talking of the changes on the exterior part of the next gen Creta, one finds that the South Korean maker has inculcated its latest design language seen on Kona and the Santa Fe in the next gen model of Creta as well. The headlamps and the LED DRLs switch places, and this puts the headlights in the bumper while the LED DRLs and the turn indicators are at the top of headlamps. Further down, one finds the fog lamps, that are placed below the triangular housing of headlamps and beside the silver scuffs that are located beneath the grille. Looking at the grille itself, one can see the signature Hyundai cascading grille in the new generation Creta that is enclosed in a chrome surrounding and comes with a thick chrome bar on the top. Beneath the grille one finds a large air intake dam, while the Hyundai logo sits in the middle of the grille.

All in all, the new generation Hyundai Creta looks nothing like the older model from the front and comes with entirely fresh looks. Moving to the sides, one finds a shadow of the older generation model here with the silhouette remaining the same. Although what is different here is the triple tone body paint that the Creta on display came with. The triple tone paint included red hue all over the body, black colored roof and contrasting white paint on D-pillar and the top belt of the car. There is black plastic cladding throughout the lower parts of the car that adds a rugged look to the next generation Hyundai Creta.

As far as the rear is concerned, the tail lights are fitted in the shape of the same triangular cluster of headlamps seen on the front. Even the rear diffuser reminds one of the front air intake. There is a LED brake light on the black plastic fitting on the rear gate. Overall, the next generation Hyundai Creta comes with a very futuristic design that is nothing like the previous gen model. Moving on to the interiors of the next generation Hyundai Creta, there is a large touchscreen multimedia setup that comes with various controls and merges with the gear lever area. The dual-tone black and beige setup ups the premium feel of the cabin and overall there are silver accents on come parts of the interior. The use of high-quality plastic is also pretty evident from the photos.

Not just the interior and exteriors, the mechanicals of the next generation Creta will also change and the new generation of the compact SUV from the South Korean brand will come with newly developed 1.5L petrol and diesel engines that will follow the latest emission norms. Apart from all the changes above, the size of Hyundai Creta will also increase as the newer model is larger and wider than before. This may push the prices of the next generation model up by a bit, but nothing concrete can be said as of now.
