Ford Slashes Price of EcoSport Variants in India After Launch of Thunder Trim

It started with the launch of Mahindra XUV300 in the market and then came the Hyundai Venue. All of this lead to an increase in rivalry in the fast growing sub-4 meter SUV segment of India. Now both Mahindra XUV300 and the Hyundai Venue have come up with more advanced and feature packed offerings in the segment and not to mention that the Tata Nexon was already giving the competitors a tough fight in the market. Therefore, the segment starter Ford EcoSport has been facing a tough time in the market lately. After Maruti Brezza's top place, Hyundai Venue has claimed the next spot on the sales charts while the recently launched Mahindra XUV300 has gone ahead and parked itself on the third spot after Venue. Therefore, in a bid to boost the sales of the EcoSport in the market, the US carmaker Ford has now decided to slash the prices of the SUV in the market. Not just this, the company has also brought out a new trim of the EcoSport by the name of Thunder in the market. Presenting the updated prices of Ford EcoSport in India.

Hyundai Venue is the most affordable SUV in the sub-4 meter segment as of now as it undercuts all of its rivals. Perhaps this is the reason why other makers in the segment are bringing limited edition models and lowering prices of their offerings. Talking of the Ford EcoSport, The sharpest drop in price is witnessed on the top end diesel model of the line-up. A huge price drop of Rs. 57,000 brings the price of this trim of the SUV to Rs. 11.33 lakh. Not that the price drop does not come at a cost, the features on the models of the EcoSport have been dropped which has led to this decline in price from the brand.
