2020 Hyundai Creta BS6 Details

The 2020 new-gen Hyundai Creta is less than a month away from its highly-anticipated launch in the Indian market. It had received an overwhelming response at the 2020 Auto Expo where it made the first public appearance. However, ahead of the official launch and price announcement on March 17, the variant details have been leaked online. The new-gen 2020 Hyundai Creta BS 6 will be available in five grades: E, EX, S, SX and SX (O) in the country.

The leaked document further reveals that the new SUV will be offered with five powertrain-transmission combinations in a total of 14 variants. The engine-gearbox combinations will be borrowed from the Kia Seltos. The exterior styling takes a huge leap from the current model as it flaunts a big cascading front grille, split headlamp setup, newly-designed alloy wheels and a LED tail-lamp cluster. The cabin will be packed with a plethora of bells and whistles in form of ventilated front seats, wireless charging, automatic climate control, digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Mechanically, the 2020 new-gen Hyundai Creta will be offered with three BS 6 certified engines, sourced from the Kia Seltos. The petrol variants will be powered by a 1.5L engine with 115bhp as top power, while linked to a 6-speed manual and a CVT (Hyundai calls it IVT) gearbox. The diesel variants will draw power from the 1.5L turbo engine with top power of 115bhp while mated to a 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic transmissions. Hyundai India has also included the 1.4L turbocharged petrol engine which belts out 140bhp. However, unlike the Seltos, it will only be offered with a 7-speed DCT auto gearbox.
